I am looking for any information concerning my uncle, Vincent Shovlin, the Irish heavyweight boxer, who boxed out of local boxing clubs in Detroit, MI, in the 1930's. He had many fights in Canada, most likely Windsor, and was reported to have been "beaten to a pulp" after a boxing match in Canada. Sadly, he never recovered from the match, and died at the young age of 18, presumably from pneumonia. I have named my son after my uncle, and would love to give him pictures , newspaper clippings, anything about his namesake. Thanks so much!
